A Story of Brothers

Carter Lamour is the heartfelt project of two brothers. Inspired by one’s life altering injury and the other’s unwavering devotion to see him through it at any cost, we are dedicated to crafting award-winning wines from the best vineyards in the Pacific Northwest, and to raising awareness of those living with Spinal Cord Injury.

Created to assist with Dain Carter's long term support and care following a life altering spinal cord injury in August of 2013, this project is close to our hearts. While the label bears our names, it has truly been the product of an entire community.

When possible our wines are sourced from vineyards managed by former colleagues, and in addition, our designs and packaging are created and influenced by close friends. This project is a reflection of relationships formed over long harvest days and late night dinners, framed perfectly by iconic sunsets that capture the beauty of the valley, and of the life we've chosen.

Dreux’s Story

After a college gap year spent traveling abroad had piqued a strong interest in winemaking for Dreux, Walla Walla's Enology & Viticulture program seemed like a great next step. That was in 2005, now, a decade later Dreux has been fortunate enough to be involved in numerous cult wine projects including Stephenson Cellars, Vin du Lac of Chelan, and Waters Winery. Dreux is thrilled to now be a part of this dynamic new project.

Dain’s Story

An outstanding collegiate athlete, Dain Carter made a numerous visits to see Dreux in Walla Walla, and in 2008, struck by the natural beauty of the area and nearly deafened by the brotherly voice in his ear, he made the move that summer. Catching on at the upstart custom crush facility, Artifex Wine Company, Dain had the opportunity to work with an amazing cast of characters and winemakers.

Dain became friends with Aryn Morell in the fall of 2010. This soon culminated in Dain working for A. Morell wines. It was a dream job.

In 2013 on his 28th birthday, Dain fractured his C5 vertebra and suffered a severe spinal cord injury. He still faces a long and difficult road to recovery. Dreux and Dain now live together in Seattle, and Carter Lamour now brings their considerable winemaking skills to the fray.

Tasting Notes

Elegant, fun, and fruity, our 2012 Chardonnay will quickly race to the top of your list of favorite wines. Carefully crafted to express the best qualities of this versatile varietal, this isn’t your grandmother’s evening sipper you remember. Moderate oak influence and a blend of styles (50% malolactic conversion) bring a welcome complexity of crispness and smooth texture. Nuanced aromas of peach, pineapple, and butterscotch are a wonderful introduction to a packed palate of crisp green apple, toasted almonds, and a pleasing, lengthy finish.
